Hi All,
It is great that we can all catch up. The end of the school year feels very busy. This was our first year having a child in regular elementary school but even when the boys were in preschool the end of the year went by in flash. So here is a quick picture post about what we have been up to.
Yard Adventures
One Sunday afternoon in May, Mr. Katie and I had separate afternoon boy adventures. Preschool Nugget (PN) and Mr. Katie went to a farm with PN’s preschool class. They ended their date with a bike ride and wagon pull around the yard. Mr. Katie has an eBike. He can pull Preschool Nugget a little faster than I can on my non-electric bike. Don’t worry, he only goes a little crazy in our yard and it isn’t even that crazy, but the boys like it. They especially like it when we make doughnuts in the backyard.
Later that afternoon, Mr. Man and I joined in on the yard fun and we all got into bathing suits and plugged in the Sit’n Spin that Preschool Nugget got from Santa. Though the boys like to Sit’n Spin in the house, it was the first time that we used it with the hose (which was an added feature of this Sit’n Spin). We also used it as a and jumped over it.
Park Fun
It’s no secret that we go to a lot of parks. This spring, Mr. Katie usually embarked on his lawn mowing events on Wednesday afternoons after work. On average, it takes about an hour and a half to get the lawn in good shape. Many times, I tend to take the boys out of the house for a portion of the mowing event because it makes the extended pre-dinner time pass more quickly on mowing days. One afternoon we did some creek exploration at nearby Water Street Park in Hellertown.
End of the Year Adventures
Today was Mr. Man’s last day of school. He is pretty excited. For me, the end of the year brings a brand-new summer schedule. It is a lot to adjust to (for me especially).
I knew that my afternoon, Preschool Nugget time (while Mr. Man was in school) was coming to an end. Recently, I made it a point to have some super-fun Preschool Nugget-esque adventures just the two of us. Last week, we took our bikes and his wagon to the local park. When he brought his bike and wagon down to the creek edge, I let the inevitable happen. That’s how the bike and wagon ended up in the creek.
Modeling Glasses
Mr. Katie recently got a box of try-them-yourself-at-home eyeglasses in the mail.
Mr. Man had no kindergarten graduation. He did bring home many treasures on his last day though. Leading up to the final day, he attended a Hawaian-themed dance one evening at school. It was just for him and a special person (he chose Mr. Katie). He also had a kindergarten carnival, a field day, and a field trip to the Wildlands Conservancy on various school days in May and June. So he wasn’t disappointed about the lack of graduation. He didn’t know that was a thing at some schools.
Preschool Nugget was not that excited about graduation. It was a little overwhelming for him. Here he is trying to smile. He ended up enjoying wearing his fancy shirt but he was unsure in the beginning if he wanted to wear it.
Great pictures Katie! I especially love your selfie with preschool nugget and the pictures of Mr. Man spinning on the sit and spin.
