Last Wednesday, we drove to see the Philadelphia Phillies in what was the boys’ first Major League Baseball game. The Phillies played the Baltimore Orioles. We sat with a friend of Mr. Katie while we were there and his family.
Mr. Katie’s friend is a lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan so we cheered for different part things that happened in the game. The Orioles won 5-1.
Unlike my family, I opted not to purchase a Phillies shirt before the game. I did try to dress in colors to represent the home team. I also wore my Iron Pigs bacon strip hat because the Iron Pigs are the AAA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.

It’s not that I don’t support the Philadelphia Phillies. I really do. Watching the Phillies 2008 World Series Run and Victory are a core memory from the first year of my relationship with Mr. Katie. I still remember the players names from the 2008-2011 teams. During the first years of our relationship, watching the Phillies (especially during the post season), was an activity that we enjoyed doing together. We even went to some games at Citizens Bank Park (sometimes when we had work the next day). Oh, to be young!
Here are a few picture from a trip to the ballpark in 2009.

Look how long and cute we look!
However, I don’t know where the Phillies shirt is that I am wearing in the picture or the hat for that matter.
Unlike the boys, I didn’t get a new shirt for this game. I find that if you are wearing a shirt supporting a sports team people want to talk to you about it. I don’t know enough about the current Phillies to participate in a conversation about them.
I did have a good time though last Wednesday. Immediately following the game, the boys had a chance to run the bases. Enjoy these pictures of our day out at Citizens Bank Park.
