Wordless Wednesday Color Run

Last Friday night, Mr. Man’s school had a color run to promote the Parent Teacher Group’s yearly fund drive.

The money that was raised is partially going to fun the project of building a hammock garden right outside of the school library. Friends and family were invited to participate alongside their intermediate school students. So Mr. Katie and Nugget ran in the 1 miles races as well.

This was our first ever color run. Essentially, a color run is a run where participants wear white or light colored clothing. While running, walking, or dancing the course they get color power thrown on them by volunteers standing on sidelines. The boys and Mr. Katie all ran in the 1 mile run. I volunteered to throw color on the runners during the event.

The school’s parent group put on a nice event. A DJ played music the entire time. Food and swag were available for purchase. Our family enjoyed some Philly style soft pretzels afterwards. The boys also wanted Kona Ice cones but I was ready to go home by the time we saw the truck (and the line was soooo long). Instead, we had ice cream novelties at home after dinner.

The race wrapped up during the golden hour on Friday evening and I was able to take advantage of the naturally good lighting outside in these pictures.

This fall has been a barrage of fundraising for school and activities but some of it is fun and it leaves me feeling more connected to the world around me. Thank you all who have supported Mr. Man and Nugget’s Cub Scout Popcorn Sale!
