Hi Everyone,
Yesterday and last night we received about 7 inches of snow after a cold rainy afternoon. We received the gift of a flexible instruction day from our school district last night.
The picture on the left is of some flowers (snow drops) that I saw yesterday while I was walking in the snowy rain around town and the picture on the right is my backyard this morning. Quite the dichotomy.

I should be reading the emails from my online students for my community college students right now, but I know that right now I have about five more minutes before my sons are done with school for the day.
If you are my friend on social media, you might have seen these pictures from Monster Jam, a monster truck show that we saw on Saturday to celebrate Nugget’s birthday, which is coming up soon.

I always mean to be so much more productive on days when they have flexible instruction days (FID), because in theory the boys have been trained in school on what to do. However, FID days always make me feel like I am walking through concrete. I feel like I always need to keep an ear on what they are doing so that they do not goof around too much. Also on those days, I only have a little uninterrupted time to work on my work for work, which in theory should not take up as much of my time as it does. However, it is only my first semester teaching online so everything takes more time than it will take in the future if I continue to do it. So, I guess what I am saying is poor, pitiful me!
On the positive side:
The snow is lovely though, and the temperature is 34 degrees, which is much warmer than it was last month around this time when we had our last bout of snow. Also, I don’t know how much it matters in the grand scheme of things how much I get done with my correcting homework today. I will do a little and honestly, that will be fine.
Also, doing my online teaching job has made me more comfortable using Microsoft Office for even little things like writing this blog post. So, readers, you might enjoy the fact that this post is better copy-written because I am using spell check and grammar suggestions as I type. My online job is teaching me little hints to make my writing easier.
Also, my lovely husband has made an improved office setup for us yesterday so that we can both work from home comfortably. He is using it right now, because of the snow, but I could have opted to sit in there with him. Instead, I am typing this from the couch, which is super comfortable. We are all safe, comfortable and warm.
So life isn’t all bad, I just like complaing sometimes.
I hope that you are all well and are keeping warm!
See you soon,
Katie
