On the last night I did Quizzo in 2019, back at the end of November, the members of one of my Quizzo teams at the library brought me this gift. It was homemade cloth bag, a box of cookies and treats, and a lovely card signed by the entire team. To steal a word I learned on the Linda Richmond sketch on Saturday night live, I was almost too verklempt and couldn’t even thank the team. They told me about how much they loved me doing Quizzo and how much it meant to them. They made these things to thank me for all the hard work I put into it.
It was really too sweet. I am glad that I did something that meant so much to them. I almost had hard time processing that they went to all that trouble for me.
So this Christmas season, I know that I need to thank the people who make my life and my family’s life better. I might not be giving them a wonderful homemade gift, but maybe I can at least give them a card telling them how much they mean to my life. For example, I don’t know if I am going to get my act together enough to get my son’s teacher’s a present or make them a present but I will surely give them a card thanking them for what they do for my son.
BTW: Writing this post is my way of reminding myself to do it.
I hope you are all appreciated in your life.
