Put One Foot In Front of the Other

I do enjoy when I have the time and inspiration to really flesh out a subject but sometimes I don’t have the time or energy needed to make that happen. I love the times when I have a wonderful idea and I can’t wait to write about them. But I do have other times when I know that I want to write but I don’t have the faintest idea about what I am going to write about.

In theory, I should have extra ideas that I can use when the well is dry. I keep a little notebook in my purse so I can write down kernels of ideas as they come to me. On days when I am feeling really bored with my brain, I don’t even bother to consider (or even look at) those ideas because I don’t have an “inspired” idea that has just come to me.

On these less creative days, I think the most important thing to do is to just put one foot in front of the other. I think that is true about life too. I think some days you just aren’t feeling inspired. On those days, the most important thing to do is to put one foot in front of the other and you will keep making your way down the path.

I find that if I even just try to write, something always happens and I am usually impressed that it was in me all along.

How about you? Do you have uninspired days? What do you do to keep moving?
