Happy Early Thanksgiving

Happy Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I wish you a peaceful day where you can find sometime to relax and take a deep breath.

The above picture is one that Patrick made in art class last week. The day he drew this picture, he got a Harry Potter wand in the mail from his Pap, who is my dad. He wanted to draw the picture and write that he was thankful for his Harry Potter wand, but his teacher, Miss McDonnell, suggested that he add a person into the picture. Thus, the addition of Henry.

Anyway, he didn’t tell me that part of the story that until I complimented him on his picture. I thought “Wow, how special, he really appreciates his brother.” I almost cried when I pulled it out of his backpack. But then he told me that appreciating a person was part of the assignment, I was slightly less impressed.

But even knowing what I know now, I still like it.

He went to the book fair at his school this week and when they did not have the book he wanted to buy, he bought himself AND his brother a snowflake wand. He got off the bus and told us, “Henry, I have a little surprise for you in my backpack.”

Here is another picture that I found in his backpack the day after the brother picutre.

I’m thankful for Cotton Candy. That pretty much sums it up. I am thankful for Cotton Candy too, Patrick.

I hope he never changes.

I am thankful for little boys and active minds

I’m thankful for good teachers and open schools and big brothers and little brothers and people who care about each other.

I’m thankful for this blog and all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving
