Let This Be a Record For Posterity That We Went on a Running Date

December 5, 2021

This blog entry was not written to brag. It was written to mark a point in the history of Brendan and Katie.

Let the record show that on December 5, 2021 at 2 pm in the afternoon, Katie and Brendan willingly ran 4 miles together on the Upper Bucks Rail trail, while having a rare afternoon out without their children. The run was followed by a quick trip to the Quakertown YMCA for sauna and showering then out to The Proper Brewing Company in Quakertown for a beer and appetizers.

I feel like I need to mark this point in history because when we married in 2011 this is not something I could have ever imagined for us. When married we used to have zero interest in running. In fact I remember saying to Brendan once around the year 2012, “I don’t ever imagine a scenario where I would ever run for fun. Running in a sport, I get, running for fun, I would never do that.”

In case something happens to either of us and we are never able to do this again (either together or separately), I want to remember the day that we ran four miles together and we had a good time and thought it was fun.

Amen

  1. That is very impressive, and I am proud of the commitment you both have to each other and your family.

  2. That’s sounds like a great day for you two. It’s great that you share your interest in running with each other. And that is a very nice picture of the two of you as well.
