Six Pictures from Last Three Weeks

Here are six pictures that tell the story of the past three weeks.

The weather has been kind of uneven with some days being in the 40’s (any maybe even 50, if I remember correctly) but also having some pretty cold days (it is a frosty 10 degrees right now). This means that we have been doing a mix between staying in the colder weather and making an effort to get out when it is nicer. We have also been enjoying some of our new Christmas presents, like the Nintendo Switch. Lately, we have an evening habit of playing Mario Kart on the Switch together after dinner in the evenings. Mr. Katie is the best Mario Kart player in our family but Mr. Man and I are improving with each session. Preschool Nugget does not really play but he likes to hold onto a controller until he forgets about it and starts playing with his trucks.

Preschool Nugget still does not wear pants or sleeves but check out these socks that I cut up to make arm warmers. The sock arm warmers might not cover much but they sure make me feel like I am doing something to keep him warm.
This might not seem exciting, but I love the boys new coat hooks. Mr. Katie installed them last weekend. (He’s the best). I thought it might be a good idea to have boy sized coat hooks so that maybe Preschool Nugget would have an interest in wearing a coat if it were hanging at his level.
Yesterday, Mr. Man and I went grocery shopping and he told me that he wanted to “push a big-boy cart”. I thought that was really funny but I didn’t tell him what I thought. Pushing a little shopping cart sounds like the definition of not being a big boy. He does look really happy though.
About a week ago, we had a nice, warm, sunny morning and Mr. Man and I went to the park while Preschool Nugget was at school. We had a good time playing on the frozen creek. We checked the ice before we started breaking it but we had a good time playing on the creek and breaking ice.
Earlier this month the boys played together at the “Train Park” on a nice morning. I liked this picture, even though you can’t see their faces because I realize these days of them being so little aren’t going to last forever. They are so at ease with each other. They play so many imagination games. Notice Preschool Nugget’s double vest combo.
Last Saturday we has sort of a lazy Saturday morning. Mr. Katie, Mr. Man and I played Qwirkle while Preschool Nugget played with his campers. Mr. Man, at six years old, won the game (with some help). It is fun when your children can play games with you that you enjoy. I also like how now I can sometimes ask him if I am going the right way when I am driving and he knows. That’s why you have kids, so they can answer your driving questions and play games with you. It happened more quickly than I expected.
