Adventuring With Katie: Hershey Park’s ZooAmerica and Chocolate World

Earlier this month, we took our annual trek to Hershey, PA to visit ZooAmerica and Hershey’s Chocolate World. We have made this trip every winter since since Mr. Man was toddler, though we didn’t get down there in 2020.

Here is a picture of the first time that we took Mr. Man on this trip. It was the day he turned 15 months old, about a year prior to Preschool Nugget being born.

Mr. Man and Me at Chocolate World in February 2017

As tradition dictates, after visiting ZooAmerica, the Hershey Park Zoo and Chocolate World, we like to finish off our trip with a visit to the Hummelstown Fuddruckers, it’s close by and it is part of the experience. We love the burgers and fries all the toppings that you can put on them.

Before Mr. Katie and I had children, we occasionally took a day trips to Hershey and had other adventures. Hershey is a great little town. It is beautiful and has many amenities. They have a wonderful theatre that hosts touring productions of musical acts and musicals that a person could drive to Philadelphia or Pittsburgh to see. However, it is great to come to Hershey with its free parking and lovely small town ambience. On those Hershey trips, we treated ourselves and went somewhere a little fancy for dinner like the Chocolate Avenue Grill and What If. . .of Hershey.

As of yet, we still have not taken the boys to the amusement park part of Hershey Park. All of our Hershey trips, thus far, have been during the winter, but on this trip Mr. Man noticed the roller coasters in Hershey for the first time and wondered when we might go. Maybe will will go this year, but they still have not ever been to Dorney Park yet and it is very close to where we live, so we still have that to experience. Also if I remember correctly, Hershey Park is awesome but also very large. We might wait another few years before checking it out during the summer.

Back to this trip though.. . .

On our trip to Hershey, we started by visiting ZooAmerica.

Can you see the snowy owl in the background?
Preschool Nugget is modeling his blanket coat for the day. It was a pretty chilly day. We all only ended up being at the zoo for about an hour (it’s a small, but nice, zoo).
Being out and about makes Mr. Man so happy!

We saw at least 5 spices of cats. My favorite animal that we saw that day were the grey wolves. All the animals at ZooAmerica are from North America!

Then we moved on to Chocolate World. . .

I was surprised to see that a person could purchase alcohol in Chocolate World. Mr. Katie and I didn’t get any, but this might be a fun beer to try.
This is the first time we let the boys ride in the cart in Chocolate World by themselves. A historic occasion. Mr. Man said that he wants to take Pap to Chocolate World and show him how to ride in the car.
Outside of Chocolate World, we saw this fun Hershey Kiss car. Hershey would probably be fun to visit at Christmastime.
Here are the boys posing together in the store area of Chocolate World. Totally their idea.

Then I remembered that I had a picture like this from a few years ago. . .

Here is a throwback picture from 2019 of Mr. Man posing at the very same display. How time flies!

As they say in Hershey “Taste the Love”!

After our Chocolate World ride and trip to the food court, we were excited to meet Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.

We enjoyed our trip to Hershey Park and we completed our trip by visiting Fuddruckers.

What have you been up to this winter? Let me know in the comment section.

I deleted my Facebook and Instagram. Keep up with family pictures by subscribing to this blog. Here’s how you can learn how to do this.

  1. Love the pictures Katie. And the post. We took Annabelle to chocolate world on our way home from Henry’s first birthday party. It was really fun.

We haven’t been up to a ton this winter, just taking our karate classes and stuff.

    1. Hi Katie,
It is cool that you and Annabelle are taking karate. That sounds awesome. I have never tried martial arts. Stay warm.
      Katie

  2. The Yuengling Hershey Porter is pretty good. Not too heavy. Chocolate flavor is noticable but not over powering. I give it a “buy” rating.

    1. Do you think Yuengling Hershey Porter is as good as Let’s brand chips? I wonder if Leonard would like it? Too bad the actor who played him died. I would have loved to have seen a video review.
