Run or Walk With Me in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day

Maybe we can eat a cake like this one after our run

Hi Friends,

Recently, I signed up to participate in the 7th Annual MoTown Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th at 8:00 am. I talked my sister Liz into joining me.

Would anyone else be interested in participating with me? I will be running in the 8K but there are several distances to choose from. We don’t have to choose the same distance. There is even a 2 Mile Fun Run/ Walk option.

It is a well attended and well organized fun race. Mr. Katie ran in it last year. It is a feel good event for the entire family and there is even a kid’s race.

Mr. Katie had nothing but good things to say about it last year. If you decide to travel to Eastern PA to participate, I am sure that we could spend Thanksgiving together in some fashion if you would like to do that. It would be an unconventional but fun day!

Here is the link to sign up if you think this is something you would be interested in participating in the 7th Annual MoTown Turkey Trot, located in scenic Montgomery Township, Pennsylvania.

Afterwards, I will buy you a delicious donut and cup of coffee from the Yum Yum Bake Shop located in nearby Colmar.

I wanted to point out that this race is still more than 7 weeks away so if you need time to train, there is still plenty of time to train if you plan on running. Here is a training plan for a 8 week couch to 5K (I know you have one fewer week but perhaps you could squish two weeks together).

Yesterday, I saw an interesting article in The Guardian about how running helped one woman mended her anxious brain through running. Here is the link if you are interested.

Anyway, no pressure but today, September 30th is the last day to sign up for early bird pricing and the race always sells out before Thanksgiving so do not delay.

Have a great weekend,

Katie

  1. The picture of the turkey cake looks like it was taken on my table one year. Did you supply the turkey cake one year. I just don’t remember it but the table cover looks familiar. Also the candle stick! LOL!
