Mr. Katie and I were talking last night about what makes people interesting. I said having “cool interests” makes people interesting. I then said that I judged certain interests to be cool and others to be lame. We talked about this for a while. I don’t love this about myself, but I can be a bit judge-y about things.
He said being passionate about anything can be cool. He feels that it is cooler to be into something when someone asks what you are up to then to just say, “Oh, you know, the usual.”
So in that regard, I hope to tell you about what I am into this week.
I am still practicing my guitar. I still like playing. It can be relaxing and I like how when I play, I feel that I am using a different part of my brain. The part of my brain that likes to overthink things turns off. Right now I only know a few chords but I can read simple TABS so I have been playing Christmas songs from this book. I have gotten pretty good at Jingle bells and I can make at least credible attempts at almost everything in this book. They do not all sound great, but I am having fun. When Mr. Katie and I are finished training for the Broad Street Run, I am going to look into taking a few lessons so I can understand how to learn to play some slightly more complex music.
I am enjoying spending some special one on one time, especially on Fridays, while Preschool Nugget is not yet a kindergartener.
Today we went to the YMCA and Lowe’s to buy some gardening supplies. He enjoyed sitting on the tractors.
This afternoon he spend some time playing on the slip and slide.
Yesterday, we enjoyed the very warm temperatures with Mr. Man as well.
Also I am spend a lot of time reading the book Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. It’s quite a book.
That’s all for me now.
What are you up to this week?
I love that Preschool Nugget is “mowing the lawn” on the slip and slide!
Hi Jenny,
I like that too. He is quite the funny guy these days. He has been doing a lot more talking.
I love that he’s mowing the slip and slide too! It was a beautiful bonus week- the weather made everyone more cheerful. I’m cleaning closets, rearranging furniture and making plans for summer. Happy April Sweet Family!!
Happy April Aunt Heidi
I read the Nathan Chen autobiography. Eh, it was fine. He is the youngest of 5 and his mom is a tiger mom. Wow! He is his brothers & sisters we’re in a crazy number of activities performing at the highest levels. He was also a competitive gymnast and an accomplished dancer. He & his mom lived in separate states from his family for 10 years so he could train & compete.
I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix. They’re new documentary on the Boston Marathon bombing and my latest favorite comedian, Nate Bargatze.
Also, spending way too much time online looking for a tablets for Josh.
I love Nate Bargatze!!! We have been watching History of the World Part II on Hulu. It is hilarious! When my book is over I am going to read something super, duper light. There is so much war in my book. No WWI or WWII for me for quite a while
You started this post by discussing what makes a person interesting! I really did like what your husband had to say about it. I will learn a lesson from the great orator that he is or was! I have had a very interesting week. Went to a meeting for hearing loss, wrote up notes for my Lions club and clean out the junk of other interesting people who lived with me for a while! I am very proud of the peanut and Nugget. Love to all!
