One of the activities that we have spent a lot of time and energy on in 2026 is going to meetups with a particular rescue organization to meet dogs that are available for adoption. It feels like going on a lot of online dates as well as shopping for online dates on a dog website in the evenings (just like in online dating).
What Pet Should I Get?

Actually, we will be getting none of these pets because their foster parents did not choose us. Or conversely we met those dogs and felt like we weren’t a good fit. Dr. Seuss doesn’t tell you, in the book What Pet Should I Get, that sometimes things are more complicated than picking between a dog, fish, cat, or rabbit. Sometimes their foster parent has to pick you too.
We are going on a promising dog date next weekend, so maybe there will be good dog news in the future. I will keep you updated.
Good luck on your future dog date!
Thank you!
Dog dating sounds intense!
It is intense. We have a dog that we are about to sign offically as our own, but she was spayed recently and it seems like there might be comflications from that so right now we are waiting to get her until that is all figured out.
Those dogs looked so nice to me. I hope you can find one that is sweet and gentle. Aunt J
Thank you Aunt Jeanne
