Ha, ha, you probably thought that I was done with food and activity pairings. If I hadn’t made one for today, I would have missed out on one of the best days for food of the entire year.

Call it what you want, Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day, Paczki or Faschnaut Day. Traditionally for observers of Lent, it is the day to use up forbidden foods before the fasting of the Lenten season. Here are some things that you can do today to celebrate Fat Tuesday.

  1. Nice tri-axle, H! Does that have a Cummins, Detroit, or CAT powerplant?

I love these food and activity pairings you do. They’re always a great way to get some smiles in while the day is getting underway!

    1. Thank you Jonathan I appreciate that. I like to write these posts because I actually do think a lot about matching foods with the season/ time of year/ holiday/ activity. For some reason that really appeals to me. Also sometimes I just like it as a writing activity. I like to feel like I am working that creative part of my brain because I don’t always want to write about me. I just want to pull something out of thin air. I appreciate your comments. Also Henry got the lego truck at Chocolate world in Hershey. Brendan and Patrick put it together and Henry customized it a little with his own legos. Its a pretty cool truck.

  2. I love your pairings- can’t wait to see the photos from the parade! I love the smile from the truck man more- it screams “ I love this truck!!!”

    1. Thank you Aunt Heidi. He sure loves trucks. No parade here but wouldn’t it be cool if places outside of the Gulf states had Mardi Gras parades?

  3. Love the food/activity pairings Katie! And that’s a great picture of the boys. I love their smiles.

  4. Henry looks like he couldn’t possibly be any happier 😊

I always found King Cakes interesting but mainly because of the hidden plastic baby. I’ve never seen a group of people partake & look for Jesus.
