Last week was my children’s last week of school.
I have been finding myself extremely motivated to weed the weeds around my house. When the boys were small, I noticed that we a number of large weeds were coming up around the exterior of the house during the summer. At the time, there was no time to take care of the the problem. Plus, once the weather got cooler, I didn’t care so much about remedying the problem.
Eventually, my husband and I caved and we hired a landscaper to clean up the boarder around the house and lay down some new mulch.
But eventually that mulch dissipated as well and we were starting to get new varieties of weeds. Side note: in my old age, I am finding myself to be quite the weed natural history buff. I find myself so interested in the different species of weeds that come up after you cut down the old crop of weeds, fascinating!)
So just before it got hot last week, we ordered some fresh mulch to be delivered and I started a race against time to get it dispersed before the heavy rains came last night.
I sweated it out and now I am sore in my shoulders and knees, but guess what. I got the mulch put down.
Father Time, you haven’t bested me yet!

I also worked hard on weeding my garden last Sunday and you can see the weedless-ish results on the right. The newly planted garden is on the left.
Maybe you can tell that I have been watching HGTV when I am at the gym? Maybe I am trying to finish all my exterior home improvement tasks done in a one week period. Maybe I have ADHD, who knows?
I also decided to get Demi groomed this week before the boys were out of school. She is pre-groom in this photo.

So now the boys are finished with their school year, and I am done my crazy last week with boys full-time tasks. On to summer vacation!
